Team entries are now open for the 2020 Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in Sydney! The race returns on Thursday, 26 March for the fifth time, following a sold-out event in 2019 and once again 25% of race entry fees will go towards The Extra Mile charity programme providing real impact in the local community.
This is not your ordinary running race – every participating company will need 10 employees to complete each team, all of whom will run the unique one-mile (1.6km) course in relay style, around the stunning location of Barangaroo Reserve. With awards for the top three fastest teams overall, fastest mixed team and fastest all-female team, the competition will be hotter than ever. Not only that, but it really is an event for all and teams will enjoy the fantastic team bonding and networking opportunities with the biggest businesses in the city taking to the start line.
With record numbers competing in our relays across the globe, we are anticipating next year’s Sydney leg of the Global Series to sell-out quickly once again so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.
The After Party
The race is not just about running! Once runners have completed their lap, they can enjoy first-class hospitality, including complimentary food and drinks in our Race Village, before heading on to the Official After-Party at The Argyle where there will be music and house beverages in order to continue post-race celebrations! Additional hospitality packages to be used in the Race Village are available to purchase for friends or colleagues if they want to come along and support the team - this is an evening not to be missed! Please note that all hospitality vouchers and passes can only be redeemed in the Race Village.

Set amidst a unique and reinvented urban setting, runners will set off from Barangaroo Reserve and challenge each other for position as they twist and turn their way through the exciting, unique one-mile course taking participants through the park, around the western waterfront of Sydney’s CBD and into the surrounding pathways before returning back to the Race Village.

The Extra Mile
When you run with purpose, you run The Extra Mile – our unique program that makes a tangible social difference to your city, which will last long after the teams cross the finish line.
Simply by participating in the race, a percentage of your team’s race fee will be donated to The Extra Mile program in Sydney, which will support and promote projects over the next year using the power of sport and physical activity. The best part is, you get to help decide where funds go by choosing a cause you care about, and running for it. When you complete your personal profile on our website you will choose one of three cause to run for. Then, on race night, your lap in the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay won’t just be for your team, but also for The Extra Mile cause you selected.
The cause with the quickest average time from all our runners will win the donation, a minimum of US$20,000, which our partner charity will use to address the winning cause across a year-long project. Coaches Across Continents is currently using the 2019 donation of AUD$30,467 to deliver a year-long programme on the issue of Inclusion. Part of this year-long project includes weekly sessions with Football United at local Sydney high schools. More information on the charity partner and the chosen causes will be announced shortly.
