Race Overview
Wow, what a race - congratulations to everyone that took on and completed the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Sydney! That’s now a wrap on our 2023 Global Race Series. Check out the full results here.
116 teams from the city’s biggest businesses took to the start line but it was Westpac Whippets that not only took the title but retained their victory from last year, completing the 10 laps of the one-mile course in a time of 56:14 – they remain the ‘fastest firm in the city’!
Competing fiercely for top spot were MA Financial Group in second place with a time of 57:27 and hot on their heels, only a few minutes behind, were Goldman Sachs with a time of 59:37.
UBS were the winners of the Fastest Female Team award, with a time of 1:13:44, and Bloomberg took the title of the ‘Fastest Mixed Team’ in 1:04:14.
Individually, the fastest runners on the night were Karina Hoe and Will Scharpf.
What an incredible year it’s been! Thank you to everyone that has made our last race in the Global 2023 Series so special. We hope to see you next year!

The Extra Mile
The Extra Mile
Global Community. Local impact.
Every participant in the race will be able to make an impact through our community program, The Extra Mile. The Extra Mile addresses unique social challenges in communities where we live and work, through three philanthropy pillars: Education, Public Health and Social Justice & Equality.
In Sydney, we are continuing our partnership with Football United, who provide opportunities in sports and education to at-risk refugees and displaced people. Every mile run during the relay will contribute towards raising a USD$30,000 donation by the end of the event.
Through your participation we are working towards supporting thousands of young people to tackle discrimination in their community through sport and physical activity.
We also encourage all participants to Go The Extra Mile beyond their participation, and register for our free-to-access Square Mile Club, where every point earned through your activity will further contribute to making a lasting and tangible impact at a global level.
