Virtual Club adds Frankfurt as new city
28 July 2021 in 3:29PM
We are excited to announce that Frankfurt has been added as a brand new city to the Bloomberg Square Mile portfolio of global financial cities. For existing Virtual Club members, this means you can now rank your company against your peers in Germany, and for our new German members – the competition is just about to get started. In addition, there are also plans for the city to host its inaugural Bloomberg Square Mile Relay race later next year.
As well as being the most important financial hub in continental Europe, Frankfurt is home to a host of esteemed sporting events such as the Frankfurt marathon, professional cycling race ‘Around the Finance Centre of Eschborn-Frankfurt’, and the Ironman European Championship. Plenty of inspiration for budding Virtual Club members!
James Hassett, Managing Director of Square Mile Sport, said: “Frankfurt is a great addition to the Virtual Club. Such a vibrant city with a wealth of top companies and a population of fitness enthusiasts is an ideal demographic for both the Virtual Club and the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, and we have no doubt it will be a huge success.
“We’ve seen really encouraging uptake across other global cities, and Frankfurt is a logical extension to what we have already created within the Virtual Club global community. For organisations to now have the capacity to effectively rank within their city creates motivation and a sense of competition, and with so many activities, challenges and events now on the platform, it’s a really effective engagement and wellbeing tool for employees.
“We very much welcome Frankfurt-based companies to the Virtual Club and look forward to seeing how the city’s companies engage with the platform and rank on the global company leaderboard.”
So, if you’ve got any colleagues based in Frankfurt, get some friendly competition going by inviting them to join the Virtual Club.
