18 June 2019 in 3:59PM

Over 45 of the Largest Financial and Technology Institutions From Around the City Raced in Support of America Scores

Over 45 teams from San Francisco’s leading companies raced against each other at the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in the heart of San Francisco. Champions Dodge & Cox took the coveted trophy and the title of “fastest firm in the city”, completing ten laps of the unique one-mile course on Pier 27 in 55 minutes and 2 seconds.

“Congratulations to Dodge & Cox for winning our third San Francisco relay,” said Emily Perrucci, Head of West Coast Sales, who raced Thursday night with Bloomberg’s women’s team. “We enjoyed seeing so many clients, partners, and friends participate in a race that demonstrates speed, teamwork, and giving back – three values we celebrate at Bloomberg.”

Coming in close behind Dodge & Cox in second place was Bank of America Merrill Lynch, with Wells Fargo in third place. Individually, the fastest runner of the night, with a time of 4 minutes 40 seconds, was Miles Irish from Acore Capital, and capturing the award for the ‘Fastest Mixed Team’ our Global Headline Sponsor, Bloomberg with a combined running time of 1 hour and 17 minutes.

It was also announced on the night that, due to a 25% contribution from all team entry fees, US$20,000 had been raised go to towards The Extra Mile charitable program in partnership with America Scores. This is a chance for the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay to make an impact way beyond the finish line and contribute to the local community in a bigger, better way. America Scores will help deliver a year-long funded legacy program to address a cause specific to San Francisco, selected by the runners themselves, on the subject of Health.

James Hassett, Managing Director of event organizer Square Mile Sport, said “The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay is an unparalleled sporting event that offers the city’s leading institutions an opportunity to come together for a night of camaraderie, competition, teamwork, celebration and networking, in support of a special cause. It’s fantastic to see the same level of enthusiasm, competitive spirit and teamwork from San Francisco’s business community on display again for the third running of the race here and with an ever-increasing number of runners the race continues to grow and we look forward to returning in 2020.”
