Congratulations to all runners that took on and completed the very first Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in San Francisco!
45 teams from the city’s biggest businesses took to the start line but it was Dodge & Cox that took the title, completing their 10 laps of the one-mile course in a time of 58:25 to lift the coveted trophy and become the ‘fastest firm in the city’!
Competing fiercely for top spot were Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo (Pony Express) coming in just behind Dodge & Cox in a time of 1:01:33 and 1:02:10 respectively. Individually, the fastest runner, Brandon Vest from Wells Fargo (Pony Express), completed the one-mile route in an incredible time of 5:10. Yelp were the inaugural winners of the Fastest Mixed Team award, with a time of 1:02:28 and finishing in fourth place overall!
The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay course is set to offer a unique, fun and exciting route for our first-time participants. Pier 27 will become an urban racetrack as over 45 teams of employees from top corporate organisations challenge one another as they pace their way along the unique one-mile (1.6km) course.

Bloomberg Square Mile Relay was proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco and made a donation to the charity to support their ongoing work within the Community. Bloomberg employees and Square Mile Relay participants were also invited to go the EXTRA MILE on September 9th by joining an ongoing volunteer effort in the Bayview neighborhood to help repair homes and community facilities, clean up parks, and plant gardens. This partnership was built upon Bloomberg’s service-focused commitment to the cities where we have offices and honors their decade-long commitment to the impactful work of Habitat for Humanity.
