Congratulations to all 1200 runners that took on and completed the 12th edition of the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in London - check out the full results here.


120 teams from London’s biggest businesses took to the start line but it was Barclays that took the title for an incredible seventh time, completing their 10 laps of the one-mile route in a time of 52:41 to lift the coveted trophy and become the ‘fastest firm in the city’!


Competing fiercely for top spot were Jump Trading and Trayport 1 coming in just behind Barclays in a time of 53:22 and 53:46 respectively. Individually, the fastest runner Austin Roth from J.P. Morgan completed the 1.6km route in an incredible time of 4:40. J.P. Morgan were the winners of the Fastest Mixed Team award, with a time of 56:00.


This year the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay will take place in 10 cities across the world, including, Dubai, Sydney, New York, Tokyo, San Francisco, London, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, Singapore and Hong Kong! The baton is now handed to Singapore on October 25th for the penultimate race of the series, so make sure you challenge your colleagues!

The Course

The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay course is set to not only challenge the returning runners on the startline, but also offer a unique, fun and exciting route for first-time participants. Runners will have to twist and turn their way around the one-mile route, racing towards the finish line in the Guildhall Yard before handing on the baton to their teammate.

The Extra Mile - London

In London, The Extra Mile has teamed up with sport for development organisation Greenhouse Sports to encourage women and girls to take up sport and physical activity. Programming will take place through their Changing the Game initiatives, youth club sessions and community centre activities with female coaches leading the charge.

The relay community will now have a chance to volunteer in interactive and exciting activities that addresses this winning challenge and kicks off the yearlong support of The Extra Mile in London. Please join us and go the extra mile yourself by participating in one of the volunteer days, it will be an experience you’ll never forget!

Greenhouse Sports has on-going volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will help provide Greenhouse participants and members of the community club with the opportunity to develop skills to support them in life and sport. Please see the specific details of the volunteer activities below:
