Race Overview

Congratulations to all 1030 runners that took on and completed the fourth edition of the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in Dubai - check out the full results here.

By taking part in the race, our runners went The Extra Mile for our charity partner, Emirates Red Crescent. 25% of their team entry fees, which equated to $33,489 has been donated to help fund a year-round project based on the winning cause - Education!

Competing fiercely for top spot were Skydive Dubai and Standard Chartered Bank (Team 1) coming in just behind Emirates Steel in a time of 01:03:29 and 01:05:41 respectively.

The winners of the inaugural 'Fastest Female Team' award both globally and in Dubai was Barclays Ladies Team in a time of 1:31:03.

Also victorious on the night was JLL who beat 41 other mixed teams to walk away as the winners of the 'Fastest Mixed Team' award with a time of 01:06:30 and individually, the faster runner on the night was Phillip Clarke from Standard Chartered, completing the one-mile route in an incredible time of 5:23:5.

Dubai - The Extra Mile

The Extra Mile helps participants of the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay contribute to their city in a bigger, better way. We are delighted to be working with Emirates Red Crescent as The Extra Mile Partner in 2019.

The Red Crescent in Dubai works to promote the spirit of solidarity and compassion within the community, and thanks to the support of the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, as well as many other benefactors, can continue its charitable programs and projects in the humanitarian field for those in need. The Red Crescent Branch in Dubai has become a centre for humanitarian and relief services, conducting 185 development projects in 13 countries around the world. Both locally and internationally, they coordinate awareness programs, first aid, and the protection and control of epidemics, as well as providing humanitarian assistance for vulnerable, needy people across a variety of causes and when disasters occur.

For the 2019 Dubai relay, US$33,489 has been donated to Red Crescent. These funds will be used to create a programme based around the winning cause, Education.
