Going global

“I was very happy and surprised to be the August Hero. I knew I had a good chance among the runners in Brazil, but I didn’t expect to have the biggest points score in the world ranking. That is really special.

“I hope more and more people join the Virtual Club, so we can encourage more people in São Paulo and around the world to get physically active.”

Staying motivated

“I first heard about the Virtual Club through e-mail and thought it was a really interesting idea due to the difficulties hosting events we have now. The Virtual Club has given me extra motivation to continue training and stay fit and I really like the competitions and on the platform. This really helps me to stay focused.

“I hope that my efforts can inspire others in my company to start running too.”

Filling the void

“I really like street races, especially marathons and last year I ran in 15 marathons and won one of them. This year I had planned do to 16, but I have only done two, as all the rest have been cancelled.

However, to keep myself prepared and in good condition for all these competitions, I train every morning. With the pandemic, I decided to keep a high volume of kilometres, even without knowing what the next race would be and that really helped me earn a lot of points last month.”
