Date confirmed for Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Dubai 2020

The globally-renowned corporate race series, the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, has confirmed its return to Dubai for the fifth time on Wednesday, 12^th February next year, hosted again at the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC).

The announcement follows this year’s record-breaking sold out event on 13^th February, which saw 1,030 runners from some of Dubai’s biggest firms race against each other around a one-mile route by the iconic DIFC Gate Building. They raised over US$33,000 through The Extra Mile programme which was donated to Emirates Red Crescent, who are now helping to renovate and maintain school buildings for low income nationals throughout the UAE.

James Hassett, Managing Director of the event organiser Square Mile Sport, said: “We are excited to be announcing the launch of the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Dubai 2020 so soon after a fantastic 2019 series opener in Dubai in February. The event creates a real buzz in the city and we’re looking forward to welcoming new teams and old friends to the start line next year for our fifth anniversary in the city.”’

Emirates Steel won the Dubai 2019 race earlier this year.

Barclays were the inaugural winners of the new Fastest Female Team category at the Dubai 2019 race, which was also supported by race partner Invisalign.

Headline sponsor Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, has supported the event since it began in the heart of London’s business district in 2007. This year the global series will grow to 12 cities worldwide, with Mumbai and Paris joining the race roster. Every race sees a large number of companies in each city network, bond and collaborate outside their working environment.
