This is a race unlike any other in New York - synonymous with the Square Mile Relay, runners will be taken on a unique one-mile route around the heart of the city's Financial District, including Water Street and Wall Street.
Long straights mean you can stretch those legs and get up to full speed, but the sharp turns will require quick feet in order to post a good time for your team. Returning runners will see the course is the same as last year, so can try to better their time!
199 Water St,
With your support, we will help build a new legacy for water management on Governors Island – the Island for all New Yorkers. In association with the Trust of Governors Island, on Sunday May 21st, Bloomberg Square Mile Relay participants will have the opportunity to visit the island and volunteer for a high-impact project, such as, installing basins to capture rainwater from impervious surfaces to be used for horticultural purposes. One of the most important strategies in preparing for climate change is to intelligently manage rainwater by recreating, as best as possible, natural hydrological systems. With your support, we are taking the next step towards sustainability. We'll have some representatives on hand in the Race Village to sign you up for the volunteer day and give you more information about this exciting project!
The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay is delighted to once again support the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as the event's official Community Partner for this year’s race. Every company's participation in the race will help contribute to this charitable cause. It is partnerships such as this that help to ensure the Memorial and Museum is sustained, and that visitors from around the world, especially current and future generations, will be able to experience the world-class learning institution and living tribute for years to come. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum will be presented with a charitable check on the night of the race.
