London calling the Square Mile’s fastest – will that be your firm?

With London being the flagship city for the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, the stakes couldn’t be any higher!

So to get the competition firing,, let’s recap on what happened last year and take a look at the ways you and your team can prepare to claim that coveted title.

Barclays Blitz

Since the inaugural Bloomberg Square Mile Relay back in 2007, London has always produced an electric, energetic and euphoric atmosphere, and last year was no different – but don’t take our word for it, see what our participants thought of the London relay. 

2022 saw Barclays claim the Fastest Firm in London, with a collective time of 52:38.4 – an impressive feat which also grants the high street bank with the second fastest global race time of 2022. This was followed by Jump Trading who were just over a minute behind in 53:46.4, while third place Bloomberg finished their race in a cool 56:27.9. 

Bloomberg also claimed the Fastest Female Team, with the Bloomberg SpeedsHers finishing their relay in 1:17:05.0. J.P. Morgan gave a valiant effort and claimed the Fastest Mixed Team with a time of 58:00.9 – which also produced the fastest time of 2022 for all mixed teams globally and the only mixed team of the year to finish under an hour! It was a night which saw a fusion between team-bonding and competition, and as a result of all your hard work, you helped us to raise $30,000 for our community partner Greenhouse Sports, via The Extra Mile community programme. Greenhouse Sports uses sports coaching and mentoring to empower young people who are facing disadvantage and help them unlock their full potential.

• Join in our year-long Race the Relay Cities Challenge and see if your team can help cover the distance to London by logging their run workouts
• Set up your own private leaderboard for you and your teammates to start tracking those personal bests!
• Team Captains – get your team involved in one of our relay-tailored Team Captain Challenges
• Take part in a variety of challenges where you can compete in solo, head-to-head or multiplayer modes with your teammates
